Bowie Bushman, survival and outdoor knife with hollow handle
The survival knives in the Bushman collection can hardly be surpassed in this price category! Unlike most hollow-handled knives, there is no joint or seam between the blade and handle that requires mechanical fasteners. Instead, the Bushman knives ‘ blades and handles are cold forged from a single piece of SK-5 carbon steel! The knives are then professionally heat treated and hardened to a Rockwell hardness of 54 HRC. In Cold Steel® tests, the transition between the blade and the handle withstood over two tons of pressure!
Each Bushman blade has been carefully ground thin and then honed and resharpened by hand to a razor sharp edge. The hollow handles provide space for survival tools and can be extended with various handle extensions to optimize reach or leverage, or to be able to throw the knife more easily.
They are available in two different blade designs (standard and bowie). Both versions feature full cambered blades, making them ideal for skinning and a variety of bushcraft jobs. Both versions also come with a Secure-Ex® sheath and high-quality Auermetall flint. Hit him with the back of your knife and start a crackling campfire in no time!
SK-5 carbon steel
Japanese SK-5 carbon steel is traditionally used in the manufacture of a variety of hand tools, such as chisels and wood saws. Due to its great universal toughness, excellent edge retention and excellent abrasion resistance, this steel has proven itself in many countries.
